To be eligible, both the sponsor and the person(s) being sponsored must have met certain eligibility requirements.
Sponsors must:
be either a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident of Canada;
meet certain income requirements (see below); and
financially support the sponsored person and their dependants.
Residents of Quebec must sign an ‘undertaking’ with the province of Quebec. This is a contract that binds the sponsorship. Sponsors in Quebec must also meet Quebec’s sponsorship requirements after being approved as a sponsor by IRCC.
Parents and Grandparents sponsorship 2021 – Do you know during the beginning of Sep 2021, IRCC will send an invitation to more than 30,000 Canadian citizens or the individuals who have held a Canadian PR to submit their parents and Grandparents Sponsorship application. We understand that Covid 19 pandemic situation is very critical as well as challenging for those whose parents are not living in Canada. Many candidates were trying to apply for their parents’ sponsorship in 2020 but were unsuccessful. But now this year, IRCC has introduced that they will invite approx. 30,000 people to apply for Canadian citizenship through the Parents and Grand Parents sponsorship program.
Parents and Grandparents sponsorship 2021
This year, IRCC has informed that Parents and Grandparents sponsorship 2021 will open on Sep 20. However, After the random selection, the invitations will be sent to the individuals between the period of 2 weeks. Those who will receive their invitation need to submit their sponsorship application within 60 days.
What do you mean by the parents and grandparents’ program?
Canadian Citizens or the individuals who have valid Canadian citizenship (PR) are able to sponsor their parents as well as grandparents to Canada through the parents and grandparents’ program. Under this program, they can apply for Canadian citizenship.
Eligibility Criteria – Parents and Grandparents sponsorship 2021
- This sponsorship program is eligible for those sponsors who had submitted a form that showing their interest to sponsor their parents/grandparents between 13Oct 2020 to 3rd Nov 2020.
- The age of sponsor must be 18 years minimum
- The sponsor must be a Canadian Citizen or have a Canadian PR or a registered Indian under the Canadian Indian act.
- He has to Show their financial funds that he has sufficient funds to support himself/ his family or parents/grandparents for 20 years.
